Irvin L. Coin Scholarship
Award & Application
Renamed in 2012, the scholarship award assists TRiO students in completing their postsecondary educational goals. The awards are available on a competitive basis to graduating high school seniors, adults entering a postsecondary program, and college students who are nominated by a current and paid AZ WESTOP member.

Irv Coin
Mr. Coin dedicated over 40 years to TRIO Programs and motivated over 4,000 individuals to pursue higher education. Recently retired, Mr. Coin served as the ASU Upward Bound Director, ASU Department of TRIO Programs Director, Arizona Chapter of WESTOP President, WESTOP President, and as a COE Board Member. Mr. Coin earned his Bachelor and Master of Art in Music Education degrees from ASU.
